How do you print images on metal?  
I am interested in re-producing old photographs and postcard prints onto metal/tin plates. I wish to make a heat transfer, which I could then press onto the metal surface. Is this possible, and if so, how to I do it? I would be pleased if anybody could help me with this. Does anyone know of website or even a book on this subject?

You could start with research on laser etching but I am unsure of the color application. Sure there are posts on the subject somewhere.

yes, that's possbile. printedinchinaonline.com could help you if you have bigger quantity. we could print your artwork on the metal plate, if you only need several pieces, another opion is to print on rubber magnet, then stick the print on the metal
