DPI stands for Dots per Inch. This is an important specification before doing any kind of digital printing. Graphics screens usually reproduce 60 to 72 dpi, most page printers 300 dpi, and typesetting systems up to 1,000 dpi. The more detailed the printing job the higher the dpi needs to be.
